One word to describe me? A hybrid.
A diversity and inclusion practitioner by day and tech enthusiast by night, I'm a bit of an anomaly and not the quintessential person you’d envision working in a diversity department.
Lesson to be learned? "Don't judge a book by its cover" (George Eliot, The Mill on the Floss).
Since joining the 4A’s in 2010, I've been a part of the lean and agile talent and diversity division. I've contributed to the elevation, rebranding, and restructuring of a 40+ year-old nation-wide, professional development program, the Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP); the creation of two 4A's future focused, revenue generating talent and diversity events, The Face of Talent and Talent@2030; and the development of new programs/initiatives and partnerships, such as the 4A's Competitive Edge Series and AdByte Powered by Google.
Naturally inquisitive, I've sought out ways to further my professional development, such as graduating from General Assembly's FEWD 2014 cohort, and to apply these skills to my professional work. The result? A diverse tech skill-set, allowing me to create internal/external websites, launch + develop e-mail marketing campaigns, introduce new efficiencies to expedite department processes while managing the longest-standing diverse, talent development program in the advertising and media industry.
